Intangles Raises $30M Series B to Bring Predictive Analytics to Global Vehicle Fleets
The Pune-based automotive SaaS company, backed by Avataar Ventures, is scaling its mission to prevent breakdowns and optimize performance for commercial fleets worldwide.
Pune-based AI automotive SaaS firm Intangles has successfully raised $30 million in a Series B funding round. The investment, led by B2B SaaS-focused Avataar Ventures, marks a major milestone for the company and a strong vote of confidence in its cutting-edge predictive analytics platform for the mobility sector. The funding will fuel global expansion and deepen R&D into autonomous edge applications.
The Multi-Billion Dollar Problem of Downtime
For the global logistics and transportation industry—a market worth trillions of dollars—the single greatest enemy is unplanned downtime. A commercial truck stranded on the side of a highway represents a cascade of costs: expensive on-the-spot repairs, delayed shipments, customer penalties, and damage to a company's reputation. The traditional approach to vehicle maintenance has always been reactive (fixing things when they break) or based on simple schedules (changing the oil every 10,000 kilometers). Intangles is proving there's a vastly more intelligent way.
How it Works: Digital Twins and Edge Computing
Intangles' solution begins with a proprietary piece of IoT hardware that plugs into a vehicle's onboard diagnostic port. This device collects thousands of data points per second from the engine, transmission, and other critical systems. This data is then used to create a "digital twin"—a highly detailed, living virtual model of the physical vehicle.
Their AI algorithms, trained on billions of kilometers of road data, analyze this digital twin to detect subtle anomalies that are invisible to human technicians. It can identify patterns that indicate a fuel injector is starting to fail or a transmission is under stress, long before a warning light ever appears on the dashboard. This allows fleet managers to move from reactive repairs to proactive, predictive maintenance, scheduling service during planned downtime and preventing catastrophic failures on the road.
"We're giving fleet managers a crystal ball. Our platform tells them not just what's wrong with a vehicle, but what's *going* to go wrong, allowing for proactive maintenance that saves time and money."
The Road Ahead: Global Fleets and the Sustainable Edge
This $30 million infusion is a war chest for growth. Having established a strong foothold in India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia, Intangles is now targeting the massive, mature markets of North America and Europe. The funds will be deployed to:
- Scale Global Operations: Building out sales and support teams in key international markets to service a global client base.
- Enhance R&D: Investing heavily in their AI models and pushing the boundaries of "autonomous edge applications," where crucial computations happen directly on the device. This enables faster, more reliable insights, even in areas with poor connectivity—a crucial feature for long-haul trucking.
Beyond the economic benefits, there's a powerful sustainability angle. Predictive maintenance ensures vehicles are always running at peak efficiency, which improves fuel economy and reduces emissions. By extending the life of components, it also reduces waste. With the backing of a seasoned SaaS investor like Avataar Ventures, Intangles is perfectly positioned to become a global leader in an industry that is foundational to the world economy, making it safer, more efficient, and more sustainable.
